Robert G Futrell, DDS
Dr. Robert G. Futrell was born in Norfolk, Virginia. He grew up in Virginia Beach, VA and graduated from Old Dominion University with a degree in Biology. Dr. Futrell then attended The Medical College of Virginia where he received a degree in Dentistry. Upon graduation, Dr. Futrell served for three years in the U.S. Air Force where he received comprehensive training in crown and bridge prosthodontics and served as interim prosthodontics officer at Minot AFB. Dr. Futrell has practiced in the Richmond area since 1988 and established his own practice in 1993.
Dr. Futrell is committed to continuing education to stay current with the latest in advancements in the field of Dentistry, and is now performing Invisalign® orthodontic treatment in addition to all other areas of Family Dental Practice. He is a member of the Richmond Dental Society, as well as the Virginia and American Dental Associations.
Dr. Futrell and his wife Cynthia live in King William and have a grown son Bradley. Outside of the office Dr. Futrell enjoys boating, fishing, and playing tennis.
Associations
Office Manager/Billing Coordinator: Tammy
Tammy has been with our practice since 1996 starting her employment as a Dental Assistant. Having a background in the clinical aspects of dentistry since 1992. Her chair side manner with patients helped to build great relationships with our patients. She transitioned to office manager in 2001. She is also responsible for coordinating patient financing, treatment planning, referrals, and keeping up with outstanding insurance claims and explaining patients' statement of account.
Tammy also acts as a liaison between the doctor and the patients. Should our patients ever have any questions they need answered or to discuss any portion of their treatment, she serves as the "go-between" with the doctor and the patient.
Everyone in our practice takes his or her job very serious. Everyone is dedicated to being very knowledgeable and professional. Should you have any questions please feel comfortable to ask any of our well trained staff.
Dental Assistant: Denise
Denise has been with our practice since 2007. She was a patient for many years prior to becoming a part of our staff and family. She has also had a background in the clinical aspects of dentistry since 1989. Denise is also responsible for staying in touch with the latest equipment, techniques, and materials in the dental field, She takes her job very seriously and is a wonderful chair side assistant.
Dental Hygienist: Candace
Candace has been with our practice since 2008, She received her B.S. in Dental Hygiene from VCU School of Dentistry in 2004. She is a highly intelligent person who works very closely with the doctor in diagnosing patients. Her personality as well as her skill keeps our patients at ease during their treatment. Candace is a huge asset to our practice who works well with everyone.
Dental Hygienist: Gina
Gina has been with our practice permanently since 2009. She was with us temporarily between 1999-2001. Gina received her B.S. in Dental Hygiene from VCU School of Dentistry in 1995. Gina is a great asset to our practice. Her personality shines through and makes the patients feel very comfortable while in the chair. She is a highly energetic and intelligent person who works well with the staff and patients.
